As a shopkeeper was closing his store for the evening, a dog approached him carrying a piece of paper in its mouth. Intrigued, the man took the paper, which contained a few coins and a short shopping list. He then proceeded to pack the items and place them in a paper bag, which the dog promptly picked up and carried away, with the shopkeeper following in amazement.
An Independent Journey
The shopkeeper followed the dog as it led him to a bus stop. When the bus arrived, the dog, carrying the bag, climbed aboard, and the shopkeeper followed. Inside, the dog presented the bag to the bus conductor, showing a band on its collar that contained the bus fare and a note with the destination.
