  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing ~2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are golden but centers still soft.
  9. Let cookies rest on the baking sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tip: For thicker cookies, chill dough for 30 minutes before baking.
